Q: What is spooning? 🙁 confused

A: Hey, it’s okay to not understand why something is called that. “Spooning” is a phrase to describe when people cuddle back-to-front. Can you picture two spoons in a drawer, stacked together? That’s what your bodies would look like when you’re “spooning”!

Some people like being the “big spoon” (behind) or the “little spoon” (in front), and find this way to cuddle comforting and supportive. Because of the close contact of your full body, even with your clothes on, many people only “spoon” with a romantic partner – but, just like any kind of body touching or physical intimacy, it’s important that both people spooning want to do it and give consent!
