Saturday Healthy Relationships Workshops
October 28, 2025

An opportunity for teens to gain foundational, age-appropriate healthy relationships knowledge outside of the school week! Three sessions are available this school year to students 12 – 14 years old.
Saturday Workshops 10:00am – 3:30pm:
December 6th
January 24th
March 21st
These FREE one-day workshops are convenient for families with busy after-school activities, who still want access to this unique health education opportunity for your teen. Sessions will use the district-approved curriculum. Participants will receive a gift card to a local business. Lunch and snacks provided.
What will teens learn? These workshops build on the knowledge teens may have gained from earlier health education classes in school. All workshop content is medically accurate and evidence-based, meaning that participants receive the most reliable, up-to-date information about healthy relationships and reproductive health. Discussions about relationships are approached with compassion and are trauma-informed, allowing teens to work through real-life challenges with open conversations, and interactive activities. Students will leave the workshop with a deeper understanding of:
Consent: components of consent, and how to negotiate and collaborate on agreements in relationships.
Assertive Communication: components and delay, refusal, and negotiation skills practice.
Values Exploration: how family, personal, and cultural values can shape teens’ attitudes and behaviors.
Reproductive Anatomy: names and functions of the human body’s reproductive parts.
Abstinence: how abstinence can reduce health risks and pregnancy.
STI Prevention: how infections are contracted and prevented.
Birth Control: the benefits and potential risks of common contraceptive methods.
KBFPC’s workshop content is based on National and Alaska Health Education Standards and The Fourth R – Strategies for Healthy Youth Relationship approved by Kenai Peninsula Borough School District.
We sincerely hope that your teen will join us! Gaining a clear understanding of healthy relationships helps create safer communities and promotes well-being for all.
